Mini cribs are smaller, more portable, and can fit in bedrooms, small apartments, and shared sleeping spaces while still meeting high safety standards. These standards should be maintained by using a tight-fitting mattress, well-fitted cotton baby crib sheets, and by checking the body for loose or protruding screws, brackets, and other hardware. Make sure no slats or bars are missing, cracked, or broken. Avoid cribs or mini cribs with high corner posts and cutouts in the head and footboard where the baby might get stuck. 

Most importantly, the crib should not have loose bedding, toys, plushies, pillows, or bolsters. Babies cannot remove loose sheets or blankets from their faces or move away from soft items that might restrict breathing.
